Kathmandu. Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who could not go to America to play the World Cup after not being given a visa, has reached the West Indies. He will play there for the Nepalese team in the ICC Men’s T-20 World Cup 2024.
The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has said that Lamichhane has gone to the West Indies and he will play in the Nepali national cricket team in the matches there. In the West Indies, Nepal has two matches against South Africa and Bangladesh.
Sandeep Lamichhane has been in Nepal’s official squad since May 16, but even though he has not received his American visa, we would like to inform you that he will be present in Nepal’s two matches against South Africa and Bangladesh in the West Indies in coordination with the ICC,” CAN Secretary Paras Khadka said in a statement.
Along with the inclusion of Lamichhane in the team, Can has kept the bowler Pratish Ji in the traveling reserve. However, Can has claimed that with the High Court Patan ruling in favor of Lamichhane on May 15, he was kept in the team and kept JC in reserve. There was a case of extortion against Lamichhane.
The Nepal Cricket Association decided to keep the young bowler Pratish Ji in the traveling reserve from the pre-announced team and submitted Sandeep Lamichhane to the final list of the official 15-man team to play the World Cup before the ICC.
Even after the court verdict, Sandeep is being protested against by Can because of not including him in the squad. But CAN has claimed that the negative statements aimed at CAN related to Sandeep Lamichhane’s visa are not true.
